111 isn’t many T-shirts and sadly its not many Maui’s Dolphins either – that’s why we've teamed up with Forest & Bird for their adopt a dolphin campaign.
The aim of the 111 shirts is to highlight the plight of the Maui’s dolphin the smallest dolphin and rarest marine mammal in the world as well as raise money for the adopt-a-dolphin campaign.
"Last year Forest & Bird got the Government to set aside Maui's and Hectors dolphin marine mammal sanctuaries, where set netting is banned", says Forest & Bird North Island Conservation Manager Dr Mark Bellingham. "However we would like the Maui's sanctuary to be extended to include coastal areas around New Plymouth, where they are regularly seen."
The 111 limited edition shirts feature a maori inspired Maui’s Dolphin design on the front and www.adoptadolphin.co.nz on the back. They’re available exclusively online at www.wetkiwi.co.nz, with all profits (that’s over $20 from each shirt) donated to the Forest and Bird Adopt a Dolphin fund.
