Freshwater Seals

After searching around Kaikoura for a spot with any visibility and shelter from the waves, the Wetkiwi team decided to go check out some baby seals. The seal pups travel about 1km up a stream near Kaikoura and spend the day playing in the pools and waterfalls. Despite the stream being flooded the seals were still there playing in the fast moving water.
